Key Learning Outcomes

This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to shift loads safely using manual handling methods. Work must be carried out in compliance with the relevant work health and safety (WHS)/occupational health and safety (OHS) regulations concerning the manual handling and movement of loads. Work is performed under some supervision generally within a team environment.

Units of Competency

On successful completion of this course, students will be eligible for a Statement of Attainment (SOA) for:

- TLID0020  Shift Materials Safely Using Manual Handling Methods

An SOA will be issued by Raise Training, RTO No. 91655 within 30 days of completion of the course, provided all USI, fees and charges have been finalised.

The units of competency listed above are current on the National Register of VET at the time of publication.

Prerequisites

There are no pre-requisites for this course.

Course Requirements

• Minimum 16 years

• Photo ID check

• Learning – to learn to provide first aid response in an emergency.

• Reading – to administer medication for anaphylaxis or asthma.

• Writing – to complete documentation such as reports/risk assessments.

• Oral communication – to call the ambulance and provide a handover.

• Numeracy – to count the number of compressions and breaths.

• Digital literacy – to access and navigate online learning environments

You will require an internet capable smartphone or tablet to complete online components of the course.

All other training and assessment materials and equipment will be supplied throughout the course. Students should wear comfortable, casual clothing.

Those with concerns related to language, literacy or numeracy skills will be asked to complete an LLN assessment, which will inform on the suitability of the course or any additional support that may be required for successfull completion.

Renewal

There are no re-certification requirements with this course. Ask your employer about their currency expectations.

Fees and Payments

This course is offered and delivered by Ingleside College on behalf of Raise Training. The course fee will be paid direct to Ingleside College.

This course may be arranged by an employer who can be invoiced for the training. If the student is booking direct, training fees must be paid by the student directly to Ingleside College. Course fees and payment terms will be communicated to the booking party (employer or student) prior to enrolment.

In the event a course is cancelled, or the services are otherwise unable to be delivered, a full refund will be provided to the booking party.
