Students completing this course will gain the skills and knowledge required to provide an advanced first aid response to a casualty in line with first aid guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other Australian national peak clinical bodies.
The unit applies to all persons who may be required to provide an advanced first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.

- The theory portion of this course is completed online via your phone, tablet or computer.
- During the face-to-face session you will be required to demonstrate all practical requirements of the course, including performing 2 minutes of CPR on a resuscitation manikin placed on the floor.

This course is offered as a face-to-face course. Pre-course learning is required.
For the standard course – Face to Face minimum duration is 8 hours.
There are no formal prerequisite units required for entry into this course. Learners will require English language, literacy, and numeracy (LLN) skills.
Face to face training consists of theory presentations and range of practical learning activities and scenarios.
Assessment activities will include a knowledge test and practical assessments including first aid and advanced resuscitation techniques. Students will also complete scenarios in a simulated environment.
The statement of attainment is valid for 3 years*.
*Please note that the CPR component of the training is valid for 12 months and should be updated annually.
This course is offered and delivered by Ingleside College on behalf of ABC First Aid RTO 3399. The course fee will be paid direct to Ingleside College.
This course may be arranged by an employer who can be invoiced for the training. If the student is booking direct, training fees must be paid by the student directly to Ingleside College. Course fees and payment terms will be communicated to the booking party (employer or student) prior to enrolment.
